Calling all employers, HR heroes, and culture champions!

As we kick off the new year, let’s plan for the healthiest, happiest, hard-working workplace yet in 2024.

As your 1:1 corporate wellness specialist, it’s literally my job to know each and every upcoming wellness day to celebrate.

Let me take some work off your plate with planning this year.

I’m excited to share a full calendar of important observances, wellness initiatives, and fun days to celebrate at the office in 2024. Acknowledging these days not only boosts morale but also promotes a more inclusive and supportive work environment for your team.

So, let’s dive in!

2024 Full Wellness Days Calendar

Never forget an important date again with our handy calendars.

January: Starting the Year on a Positive Note 🎉

January is more than just the start of a new quarter; it’s a fantastic opportunity to re-energize our teams and set the right tone for the year ahead. Here’s a closer look at how we could make the most of January.

All Month: National Mentoring Month

This month is all about building connections that empower both mentees and mentors.

It’s the perfect time for us to initiate mentoring programs in our organizations.

Whether it’s pairing up new hires with seasoned employees, or arranging peer-to-peer mentoring sessions, let’s use this month to share knowledge, skills, and experiences, setting us up for a successful year ahead. This initiative not only supports professional growth but also strengthens our workplace community.

January 15th: Blue Monday

Sorry to be a downer – but many people actually refer to this day as the most depressing day of the year because of factors like cold weather, post-holiday blues, and financial strain after the holidays. (Sorry, again!)

I like to flip Blue Monday on its head for my clients. What a great opportunity to chase away those blues with some positive office activities.

At Twello, we’ve supported teams like Amazon, KPMG, and Norton Rose Fulbright with their team’s wellness in the tough winter months.

It’s a great day to focus on mental health by offering workshops on stress management or inviting a speaker to talk about maintaining a positive mindset.

Let’s transform Blue Monday into an uplifting day of activities and reflection, setting a brighter tone for the rest of the year.

January 18th: Get to Know Your Customers Day

On January 18th, it’s all about our customers.

It’s a day to appreciate and better understand those who support our business.

Organize team activities like customer feedback sessions, brainstorming on customer satisfaction strategies, or even a simple thank-you note campaign.

This day reminds us that our customers are the heart of our business, and getting to know them better can help build more genuine relationships and tailored offerings.

January 24th: Bell Let's Talk Day

In Canada, this is one of my favorite wellness initiatives.

If you know Twello, you know mental health in the workplace is the reason we started this company, and Bell Lets Talk Day is dedicated to breaking the stigma around mental illness.

On January 24th, we can focus on mental health awareness by encouraging open conversations about mental health, sharing resources available for support, organizing workshops that focus on mental well-being, and even bringing in a guest speaker to talk about the importance of mental health in the workplace.

By participating in Bell Let’s Talk Day, we can support a great cause and create a more compassionate and understanding work environment.

February: Celebrating Diversity and Love ❤️

February brings a blend of observances, from celebrating historical achievements and diversity to promoting self-love and kindness.

Here’s how I recommend incorporating these meaningful themes into your workplace culture.

All Month: Black History Month

This month is a powerful time to honor and celebrate the contributions and achievements of Black individuals throughout history.

To recognize and educate teams, we can organize events like educational seminars and panel talks or invite guest speakers to encourage reflection and conversation.

I also always like to recommend hosting a book club focusing on the writings of Black authors. I like this approach because I think it brings together a greater sense of community while amplifying more Black voices.

You may also consider planning cultural heritage celebrations or simply distributing resources that shed light on Black history and culture, such as podcasts and documentaries.

It’s an opportunity to educate ourselves and appreciate the significant impact Black individuals have made in our society.

All Month: Boost Your Self-Esteem Month

I LOVE this initiative. While lesser known, I think it’s great opportunity for wellness committees and employers.

Imagine if we made personal self-esteem a top priority for our employees!

What would happen to our teams? Our new employees? Company morale?

Throughout February, let’s encourage activities that promote self-confidence and personal growth.

This can be workshops on positive self-talk, team-building events, or even personal development challenges.

For my clients, I always like to focus on a mindfulness-based activity that boosts self-esteem, such as mindfulness and resilience training.

By focusing on building self-esteem, we create a more positive and productive workplace where everyone feels empowered to put their best foot — and work —  forward.

February 14th: Valentine's Day

Of course I’m going to have Valentine’s Day on here! ❤️

Often associated with romantic love, Valentine’s Day at the office can be a day to celebrate all forms of love and appreciation.

Have fun with your team making Valentine’s Day cards, or give employees a relaxing 30-minute afternoon chair yoga session focused on self-love.

It’s a day to remind each other of the importance of kindness, appreciation, and positive relationships at work.

February 14th-20th: Random Acts of Kindness Week

Woo hoo! We have a full week for this one.

RAK (ok, not the best acronym) week is a time to encourage and engage in acts of kindness throughout the office.

Organize a volunteering day with your team, start a ‘kindness challenge’ where employees perform random acts of kindness or provide a platform for peer-to-peer recognition.

You can also offer wellness classes as a ‘random act of kindness’ for your team.

Wellness classes or webinars that fit perfectly into this week include:

Celebrating this week can promote a culture of compassion and empathy, strengthening team bonds and overall morale.

March: Focusing on Health and Appreciation 👏

March is a vibrant mix of health awareness and appreciation for diversity.

From celebrating our teams to acknowledging global health issues, here’s how I recommend making the most of these observances.

All month: Nutrition Month

A healthy team is a happy team!

THAT BEING SAID, I always caution my clients about coming off the wrong way during Nutrition Month…

It’s very important not to recommend any “diet” or “weight-loss challenge.” Nutrition is more than just a number on the scale, and that connotation can be very upsetting or alienating to employees.

Plus, everyone knows we should be eating more spinach – employees are more interested in novel and inclusive approaches to nutrition.

Twello’s “Mindful Eating Workshop” is a 30-minute session that explores a data-backed mindfulness practice proven to increase psychological well-being.

This class is a fun approach to mindfulness that includes a beginner-friendly mindfulness practice that can be done during a coffee break!

March 1st: Employee Appreciation Day

Oh, this is a BIG one.

Don’t skip this one.

This is a special day to acknowledge the hard work and contributions of your employees.

Remember, intention and thoughtfulness outweigh the price point here.

Show appreciation through gestures like a hyper-personalized thank-you note, a personalized awards ceremony, or a relaxing yoga class for the team.

I’ve got so many ideas for this one I think I’ll have to point you toward another article I wrote:

Check out 20 Unique Ideas To Celebrate Employee Appreciation Day in 2024 that will actually land with your employees (trust me).

Remember, it’s about creating a culture where everyone feels recognized and appreciated.

March 8th: International Women’s Day

This is an important day to celebrate the incredible achievements of women around the world and in our offices.

Consider planning a panel discussion with female leaders, sharing stories of inspiring women in the industry, or supporting a charity that focuses on women’s issues.

We can support the women-identifying members of our team by offering a space for mental health, relaxation, and personal growth.

March 8th is a chance to reflect on progress made, advocate for change, and celebrate women’s achievements.

March 15th: World Sleep Day

Good sleep is essential for good health, and chronic sleep deprivation is far too common.

The CDC estimates that over 25% of your workforce is experiencing “excessive sleepiness” at any given time.

The good news is – we have a wellness class specifically created for your sleepy team members: Mindfulness For Improving Sleep.

This short 30-minute session discusses the three primary obstacles to restful sleep, the role that mindfulness plays, and techniques to enhance the quality of your sleep.

It’s a great opportunity to remind our teams that better sleep = better health.

And don’t just take my word for it; here’s a testimonial from a recent webinar attendee, “I’ve struggled with sleep for a long time, and it can impact my workday; I really appreciate that you are putting these classes together for us, it means a lot.”

Testimonials always make me smile. 😊

March 20th: Day of Happiness

Question: What makes your employees happy?

I won’t give too many recommendations here because, usually, internal team members know what brings their coworkers joy.

However, I can share which webinars are most commonly picked for this day:

On this day, focus on activities that bring joy to the workplace.

It’s a day to remember that happiness at work leads to more productive and creative teams.

March 31st: Transgender Day of Visibility

Despite growing public awareness of the struggles that trans individuals often face, many employers remain ill-equipped to create policies and workplace cultures that support their trans employees.

This day is dedicated to celebrating transgender people and raising awareness of discrimination faced by the transgender community.

At work, we can support this day by hosting educational sessions, showing solidarity through social media campaigns, and, most importantly, inviting speakers from the transgender community.

It’s about building an inclusive environment where everyone feels safe and valued.

April: Encouraging Movement and Stress Relief 🧘‍♀️

Like they always say, “April wellness events bring May morale boosts!” – or something like that.

April is all about staying active and managing stress.

I think of April as a light and bright month. 🌼

It’s a great month to encourage healthy habits and bring some light-heartedness into the office. Here’s how we can embrace each of these days and themes in April.

All month: "Move More Month"

This is a fantastic opportunity to encourage physical activity among your team, BUT remember the principles of “Nutrition Day” in March.

It’s very important to be inclusive and accessible for any wellness day related to personal fitness.

I like to recommend virtual fitness classes like Pilates and Mindful Movement for my clients that allow team members to turn off their cameras if they’d like, so everyone feels comfortable and included.

Other ideas include providing incentives for cycling to work or arranging chair yoga classes, which are accessible ways to get everyone moving a little more.

All Month: Stress Awareness Month

Stress management is your greatest ally in today’s fast-paced work environment.

Throughout April, we can focus on activities that help reduce stress.

Consider hosting workshops on mindfulness, time management, or even relaxation techniques.

Encouraging regular breaks, creating a quiet relaxation space in the office, or offering flexible working hours can also help in managing workplace stress.

April 1st: International Fun at Work Day

It’s time to break the routine and have some fun!

Something as simple as a casual dress day, an office-wide treasure hunt, or a team lunch at a new restaurant.

The goal is to create a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere that helps break down barriers and boost team spirit.

Looking for a fun wellness webinar or in-person workshop? Mindfulness For Boosting Creativity always gets the team laughing while encouraging creativity and imagination.

April 7th: World Health Day

Again, this is one of the BIG ones.

Make sure you’re supporting your team by acknowledging World Health Day.

This day is all about making health and well-being (instead of productivity and profits) a priority in the workplace.

A day dedicated to promoting global health awareness is an ideal time to bring attention to health-related issues that can impact our employees.

Our most popular classes booked for this day are (in order):

April 14th: Moment of Laughter Day

They say laughter is the best medicine, and what better way to boost morale than by sharing a good laugh?

Plan a comedy movie lunch, a funny meme contest, or even a stand-up comedy hour. Encourage your team to share jokes or funny stories.

Laughter can lighten the atmosphere and improve team bonding.

April 22nd: Earth Day

This day is all about appreciating and protecting our planet.

What do I recommend? Earth Day might as well be called Mindfulness & Nature Day around here!

Last year we had 18 companies celebrating Earth Day with our Mindfulness & Nature Class with great reviews:

“This webinar was like an island of peace during my busy week and I love that my employer cares enough to help us learn more about mindfulness and the environment.”

April 24th: National Admin Professionals Day

Don’t forget to celebrate the backbone of your office – the administrative team!

Show your appreciation with a special lunch, a thoughtful gift, or even a fun awards ceremony.

Their dedication to keeping the office running smoothly deserves a day of recognition and celebration.

May: Prioritizing Mental Health 🧠

May is a pivotal month for supporting mental health in the workplace. It’s also the busiest month for us here at Twello.

It’s a time to focus on well-being, acknowledge the crucial roles of our team members, and embrace practices that improve mental well-being.  Let’s take a look at how we can make the most of this month.

All Month: Mental Health Awareness Month

May is entirely dedicated to raising awareness about mental health issues and destigmatizing mental illness.

This is a cause very near and dear to our hearts, as Twello was started as a result of one of our co-founders struggling with her own mental health.

After spending a year off of work due to a nervous breakdown and bipolar diagnosis, Twello was born.

Considering mental disorders affect roughly one in four people worldwide at some point in their lives (World Health Organization) – it is an excellent opportunity for us to open the conversation around mental health and foster a supportive work environment.

We have entire workshop packages designed to support conversations around mental health and share wellness strategies in an accommodating way.

The good news is that mental Health Awareness Month usually allows for four to eight resource touchpoints over four weeks.

Here are our eight most popular workshops in May (in order):

In addition to programming, consider providing additional resources for mental health support or even implementing a “mental health day” policy.

Encouraging open conversations about mental health from the leadership team can also make a profound difference in the workplace.

May 8th: National Receptionist Day

Recognize the commitment and hard work of the receptionists in your office.

These team members often serve as the first point of contact and are essential to daily operations.

Show appreciation with a special thank-you note, a small celebration, or a token of gratitude. It’s a gesture to let them know their contributions are valuable and appreciated.

May 13th-19th: Mental Health Awareness Week

Mental Health Awareness Week during Mental Health Awareness Month, whoa.

In addition to the eight wellness workshops that are booked most commonly in May above, (Mindfulness 101, Meditation 101, Mindfulness For Stress Reduction, Mindfulness For Improving Sleep, Chair Yoga, Resilience Training, Building Boundaries Between Work & Home, Mat Yoga) this week offers another opportunity to shine a light on mental health in the workplace.

Organize daily initiatives or discussions that address different aspects of mental well-being.

Consider offering a week of relaxation sessions and group discussions, or invite mental health professionals to speak.

Activities like ‘walk and talk’ or ‘bring your pet to work day’ can also promote a sense of well-being and relaxation in the office.

Take an even deeper dive by conducting a mental health survey to get a better understanding of your team and their needs.

This can provide valuable insights into how we can further support our employees’ mental health and cater our initiatives to be more meaningful and effective.

May 21st: World Meditation Day

We were made for this day!

On this day, organize a group meditation session, perhaps at the start of the day or during a lunch break.

How, you ask? That’s my job! At Twello we offer all kinds of mindfulness and meditation classes but these are the most commonly booked for World Meditation Day:

You could also provide resources or workshops on how to meditate and incorporate mindfulness into daily routines.

Encouraging regular meditation practices can help improve focus, reduce stress, and enhance overall employee well-being.

June: Celebrating Diversity 🌈

June is an exciting month bringing celebrations of  diversity, and the environment.

Let’s embrace these themes and create a culture that’s vibrant, inclusive, and healthy! Here’s how we can make the most of June.

All Month: Pride Month

Celebrating Pride Month is all about recognizing and supporting the LGBTQIA2+ community within our workforce.

This includes taking part in local Pride events, hosting your own internal events, and most importantly, inviting speakers from the LGBTQIA2+ community.

It’s vital to promote an environment where every employee feels respected and valued, irrespective of their gender identity or sexual orientation.

June 1st: National Health and Fitness Day

Healthy employees are happy employees!

Take this day to promote physical well-being and fitness at the office.  Book a group fitness session or team sporting event, or inspire staff members to use this day to set personal health goals.

Promoting physical activity is not only beneficial for the health and well-being of your team but also reduces healthcare costs.

June 5th: World Environment Day

The theme of World Environment Day is environmental action and awareness.

Much like Earth Day, this day is all about acknowledging and safeguarding our planet’s well-being.

Our Mindfulness & Nature Class was built to explore just that with a mindfulness lens.

June 10th: Action Anxiety Day

Take this day to recognize the importance of mental health by raising awareness of anxiety in the workplace.

Provide anxiety management workshops, create a ‘quiet area’ for relaxation, or share resources for expert support.

Our team recently introduced an office meditation room, offering a private space to destress and refocus.

Why is this important? Need to convince your boss?

Here’s a handy stat (and there are many more), “In 2010, employers in the U.S. lost a collective $300 billion from workplace stress-induced absenteeism, productivity losses within the office, and sick leave.” More companies are adopting this low-cost method for reducing stress by designating space for meditation or energy rooms in their offices.

Incorporating virtual mindfulness meditation sessions is especially effective for remote/hybrid team members.

Creating a supportive work atmosphere that allows employees to manage their stress and anxious feelings is so important, not only for employee mental health but also for boosting that bottom line.

June 21st: Day of Yoga

Yoga is a fantastic way to ease stress and improve physical well-being!

Organize a mat yoga session for the group, either in the office or at a local park.

Worried about accessibility? Chair Yoga is a great option to get everyone involved and caters to all fitness levels.

Virtual chair yoga classes can also be more inclusive to remote employees if your team is dispersed.

Yoga is a proven stress-melter and one of the most inclusive exercise programs for the office.

June is a warm blend of wellness, diversity, and environmental action. By celebrating these themes, we can uplight our culture and improve the overall well-being of our employees. I like to encourage my clients to make it a month to remember – full of pride, positivity, and health!

July: Embracing Social Wellness 🤗

As we step into summer, July is a wonderful time to celebrate social connections, national pride, and the simple joys that bring us together.

All Month: Social Wellness Month

This month highlights the important role of social connections in our well-being.

Through social outings, team-building activities, or community service projects, encourage your team to strengthen relationships and deepen connections.

Hosting regular ‘get-to-know-you’ lunches or coffee breaks can help build stronger bonds between team members.

July 1st: Canada Day

For our Canadian friends, this is a day to celebrate national pride.

Before heading out of the office for the long weekend, decorate the office space in red and white, organize a Canadian-themed potluck, or even host a trivia quiz on Canadian history and culture.

I love it when my clients celebrate the diversity and heritage of Canada while having some fun in the workplace!

July 4th: US Independence Day

The fourth of July offers our American teams a chance to commemorate their history and culture.

Before the long weekend commences, think about throwing a barbecue lunch, setting up a themed casual dress day, or decorating the office in patriotic colors.

It’s a great way to celebrate and appreciate the American spirit as a team! Plus, who doesn’t love a barbeque lunch?

July 24th: International Self-Care Day

Woo-hoo, this is always a big day at Twello. Today is all about promoting self-care!

Encourage your team to take part in activities that they find relaxing and rejuvenating.

Host a self-care workshop such as Meditation 101, Mindfulness For Improving Sleep, Chair Yoga, or Building Boundaries Between Work & Home, set up a ‘relaxation station’ with cozy seating and soothing music, or give employees an extended lunch break to enjoy some personal time caring for themselves.

July 30th: World Friendship Day

A day dedicated to celebrating the friendships formed within the workplace.

This is a great time to organize a team outing, plan a fun friendship bracelet-making activity, or encourage employees to show gratitude to their coworkers through handwritten notes – ah, the lost art of handwritten notes!

It’s the perfect chance to acknowledge and cherish the friendships that make our workplace special.

There are so many opportunities to celebrate, connect, and take care of ourselves and others in July. We can nurture a work environment that values social wellness, national pride, and the power of friendship! Let’s make July a month of happy festivities and meaningful connections.

August: Focusing on Overall Wellness 🍏

August is a wonderful time to concentrate on overall workplace wellness.

This month is dedicated to promoting wellness, celebrating diversity and youth, and highlighting the importance of equality. Here are some ideas for embracing these themes throughout the month.

All Month: National Wellness Month

August is devoted to healthy routines, stress management, and self-care.

I support a lot of our clients here in booking workshops on subjects like mental well-being, physical health, and nutrition.

May I also suggest introducing “Wellness Wednesdays” for the month, featuring activities focused on holistic wellness?

Let me take some work off your plate by checking out our 25 Corporate Wellness Wednesday Ideas for both onsite and virtual teams!

August 12th: International Youth Day

Celebrate the future of our workforce with International Youth Day!

You may use this day to focus on the professional development of your younger employees, recognizing their potential and vibrancy.

Make the most of this day by organizing a panel discussion with young leaders in your industry, a career development workshop, or mentorship programs.

t’s an opportunity to inspire and be inspired by the next generation of employees.

August 15th: International Relaxation Day

International Relaxation Day, another day that’s right up my alley!

On the 15th, encourage your team with workshops like guided meditation or yoga, or even wrap up the workday a bit early to unwind.

Creating a relaxed atmosphere for the day can help in lowering stress levels and increase overall job satisfaction.

August 26th: Women's Equality Day

This day honors the passage of the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote, and also focuses on the continuous efforts toward gender equality.

It’s a time to acknowledge women’s accomplishments and openly explore ways to promote inclusivity and equality, especially in the workplace.

Plan an open discussion, workshops, or even a networking event centered around women’s empowerment.

Some other easy ways to promote this initiative in your office can be women’s get-togethers, equal pay reviews, or simply recognizing the incredible women on your team. Show your appreciation with both impactful actions and support.

September: Self-Care and Peace ☮️

All Month: Self-Care Awareness Month

We’re reminded of the importance of taking care of ourselves throughout the entire month.

The fun thing about self-care as a category is there there are SO MANY ways to practice it and celebrate it.

If you have the budget for it (I can help with this!), a “best practice” is to offer multiple self-care tools.

Remember, self-care looks different for everyone, it’s not a one-size-fits-all.

Here’s a well-rounded set of 4 classes:

Workplace Self-Care: Building Boundaries Between Work & Home
Physical Health: Mat Yoga
Mental Health: Meditation 101
Emotional Health: Resilience Training

September 10th: Suicide Prevention Day

This is an important day to raise awareness about suicide prevention and mental health.

According to According to the World Health Organization, close to 800,000 people die by suicide globally every year, which is approximately one person every 40 seconds.

Suicide is among the leading causes of death worldwide.

Consider hosting a training session on recognizing signs of distress and the importance of seeking help.  Fostering a supportive work environment means encouraging candid, stigma-free conversations about mental health and providing resources for enhanced mental health support.

While it can feel a bit uncomfortable, these conversations can have a ripple effect within an organization in helping others seek help and reduce the stigma.

September 21st: International Day of Peace

A day all about spreading peace—both among ourselves and in our communities.

This can be done through activities that promote harmony and understanding, like a group meditation, workplace civility workshops, or a collaborative team-building exercise that emphasizes cooperation.

September 25th: National Women's Health & Fitness Day

The 25th is a day to focus on the health and fitness of women and should be recognized within the workplace.

National Women’s Health Day draws attention to the health disparities which disproportionately affect women, especially those from marginalized communities.

This includes disparities in access to healthcare, quality of care, and actual health outcomes.

To support women’s health in our office, you can organize a women-focused wellness workshop, exercise class, or even a health fair tailored for women.

It fosters empowerment by providing women with information, resources, and support to make informed decisions about their health.

October: Embracing Emotional Health 😌

Continuing the theme of mental health and creating a positive work environment, October is a month to address emotional wellness, show gratitude, and add a bit of fun to the office. Here are some ideas for embracing these themes to make this month the best it can be!

All Month: Emotional Wellness Month

We’re encouraged to take a look inward and focus on our emotional well-being this month.

We can support our team by planning seminars such as Emotional Intelligence 101, or mindfulness!

Encourage staff to share their feelings and experiences in a safe space and offer emotional support resources.

Simple activities like journaling or group discussions can go a long way.

All Month: Healthy Workplace Month

Oh wow, it’s like this month was made for me!

In the old days, employers used to offer sessions on eating more salads and weight loss during this month. Eek! 😬

Today’s best teams know that healthy workplaces are built on a holistic view of health, not just a number on a scale. In fact, focusing on weight alone is a very discriminatory approach to corporate wellness and should be absolutely avoided.

Instead, focus on creating a positive work environment where our team can feel and do their best.

This can be ergonomic assessments, discussions on work-life balance, or weekly mindfulness practices.

October 10th: World Mental Health Day

🚨 Companies all around the world dedicate this day to raising awareness of mental health issues and supporting their employees. Don’t skip this one! 🚨

Use this day to highlight the importance of mental health in the workplace and offer resources for support. Bring in a mental health expert for a talk, or plan a mental wellness workshop.

As a continuous commitment, you can explore more long-term strategies like mental health training for managers, flexible work arrangements, or enhanced mental health benefits and coverage.

October 14th: Canadian Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian folks!

This is a day to enjoy fellowship and express gratitude. Bring this warm energy into the office with a potluck where everyone brings a dish to share or organize a team activity that centers around giving thanks.

It’s a perfect time to appreciate each other and the positive aspects in both our professional and personal lives.

October 31st: Halloween

Halloween is a fun opportunity to break the routine and bring some excitement to the office.

Unfortunately, I don’t have any wellness workshops to offer for this one. 😂

Instead, encourage team members to enter a costume contest, dress up, or decorate their workspaces.

November: A Month of Giving and Awareness 🦃

November is also a time of thankfulness and generosity. It’s a perfect month to spread kindness and awareness on important health initiatives. Let’s jump into how to fully engage in these special occasions.

All Month: Month of Giving

November offers us a chance to embrace generosity wholeheartedly.

Let’s rally our teams around meaningful acts of giving, whether it’s organizing charity events, volunteering together, or raising funds for causes close to our hearts.

I always encourage organizations, especially your leaders, to engage in community service or spearhead donations.

Seize this opportunity to spread positivity and contribute to the betterment of our community.

All Month: Movember

Prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health are among the men’s health issues that are the focus of Movember.

Encourage your mustache-growing employees to spark conversations about men’s health, or organize health screenings and talks.

It’s a great time to fundraise for men’s health charities. Sprinkle a dash of fun with a mustache-growing competition or host a ‘Mo Show’, where participants showcase their facial hair.

November 4th-10th: Pain Awareness Week

The goal for this week is to increase awareness of pain and pain management.

Organize workshops or bring in experts to chat with us about dealing with chronic pain, improving office ergonomics, and decreasing stress-related pain.

It’s important for us to acknowledge and support each other through the various types of pain we might be feeling.

November 13th: World Kindness Day

A day designated to spreading kindness!

One of my favorite things I’ve seen is a “Kindness Wall of Fame” where employees can post stories, photos, or testimonials about acts of kindness they’ve witnessed or experienced in the workplace.

This even serves as a visual reminder of the positive impact of kindness and encourages others to follow suit.

November 19th: International Men’s Day

November 19th is a chance to appreciate male role models and contribute to the conversation about men’s mental health.

November 19th is an opportunity for us to celebrate the male role models in our lives and to join in conversations about men’s mental health.

Organize discussions or events centered around important topics like mental health. It’s a chance for us to support each other and break down the stigma surrounding men’s mental well-being.

Some impactful topics could include emotional expression, stress management, and “healthy masculinity.”

November 28th: American Thanksgiving 🦃

This is a time for our American friends to show gratitude and enjoy quality time together.

Before setting that out-of-office alert, connect with your team over a Thanksgiving potluck lunch or make a “wall of gratitude” where staff can share what they’re thankful for.

Our workshop, The Science Of Gratitude Journaling, is a timely class as well.

This time of year is about reflection and appreciation for positive aspects of our lives, like our work and colleagues.

December: Ending the Year with Compassion ❄️

As we approach the end of the year and gear up for the holiday season, December holds a special significance for embracing compassion. It’s a time for us to pause, reflect on the past year, and find ways to make heartfelt contributions.

Let’s cherish the present moment amidst the holiday hustle and bustle!

All Month: HIV & AIDS Awareness Month

This month is dedicated to raising awareness about HIV and AIDS, and supporting those affected by these conditions.

Organize educational sessions to dispel myths and provide accurate information about HIV and AIDS.

Consider participating in or organizing fundraising events to support AIDS research or charities that help those living with HIV/AIDS.

It’s an opportunity to show support and solidarity with those impacted by this global health issue.

All Month: Holiday Stress Awareness

While joyful, the holiday season can also be STRESSFUL.

Recognizing this, focus on establishing a supportive work environment for your team near the end of the year.

I mean, you should always strive for a supportive work environment, but ESPECIALLY around the holidays.

Share stress-relieving resources or plan workshops on relaxation and managing holiday stress. To alleviate some of the seasonal pressure, encourage a healthy work-life balance during this hectic season and consider incorporating flexible work hours or a relaxed holiday schedule.

Offer your team a helping hand this holiday season so they can take this away from the office to truly relax and rejuvenate for the new year to come!

We also offer a seasonal class designed for exactly this time of year, Mindfulness For Managing Holiday Stressors, which focuses on seasonal stressors such as financial pinches and increased time with your inlaws.

December 5th: International Volunteer Day

The 5th is a celebration of volunteer spirit.

Encourage folks to consider volunteering, whether it’s individually and as a group.

This can be lending a hand at a local shelter, taking part in cleanup efforts, or contributing to a good cause.

During the most consumer-driven month of all, feel the joy of helping others by giving back to the community!

December 10th: Human Rights Day

This day commemorates the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Promote open conversations about human rights issues at the office to foster an atmosphere of respect and understanding for everyone.

Plan discussions or workshops about diversity, inclusivity, and the significance of honoring human rights in all facets of life, creating a more welcoming and encouraging workplace for your team.
