January 2026 Workplace Awareness Days
January is more than just the start of a new quarter; it’s a fantastic opportunity to re-energize our teams and set the right tone for the year ahead. Here’s a closer look at how we could make the most of January.
- All month: National Mentoring Month
- 3rd: International Mind-Body Wellness Day
- 19th: MLK Day
- 21st: Bell Let’s Talk Day
All Month: National Mentoring Month
This month is all about building connections that empower both mentees and mentors.
It’s the perfect time for us to initiate mentoring programs in our organizations.
Whether it’s pairing up new hires with seasoned employees, or arranging peer-to-peer mentoring sessions, let’s use this month to share knowledge, skills, and experiences, setting us up for a successful year ahead. This initiative not only supports professional growth but also strengthens our workplace community.
January 3rd, 2026: International Mind-Body Wellness Day
This day is basically permission to hit pause and remember that your brain and your body are, in fact, still connected (shocking, I know).
Workplaces usually keep this simple: If you’d like to mark the day with something meaningful for your team, why not celebrate with a guided Chair Yoga class?
It’s accessible, relaxing, and easy to fit into even the busiest schedules.
Other ideas include:
-
Offer a guided movement or mindfulness break to ease people back into the year, this could even be led by an internal employee if the budget is tight
-
Send a short “choose-your-own-reset” toolkit email: breathwork, stretches, micro-break ideas, low lift but still a good remidner
-
Block 30 minutes in the team calendar for a collective reset, basically “do whatever you’d like to celebrate the day” (employees love when leadership makes space instead of adding tasks)
January 19th, 2026: MLK Day
Today, we pause to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a leader who championed equality, compassion, and the power of community.
Keep the tone honest, respectful, and action-oriented. The goal isn’t just to “host an event,” it’s to acknowledge progress, challenges, and shared responsibility in a grounded way.
January 21st, 2026: Bell Let's Talk Day
In Canada, this is one of my favorite wellness initiatives.
If you know Twello, you know mental health in the workplace is the reason we started this company, and Bell Let’s Talk Day is dedicated to breaking the stigma around mental illness.
On Bell Let’s Talk Day, we can focus on mental health awareness by encouraging open conversations about mental health, sharing resources available for support, organizing workshops that focus on mental well-being, and even bringing in a guest speaker to talk about the importance of mental health in the workplace.
By participating in Bell Let’s Talk Day, we can support a great cause and create a more compassionate and understanding work environment.
If you’re looking for a meaningful way to honor the day, one of our most requested sessions is Understanding Anxiety. A practical, evidence-based class that helps teams make sense of stress and feel more in control.
February 2026 Workplace Awareness Days
February brings a blend of observances, from celebrating historical achievements and diversity to promoting self-love and kindness.
Here’s how I recommend incorporating these meaningful themes into your workplace culture.
- All month: Black History Month
- All month: American Heart Month
- 4th: World Cancer Day
- 6th: National Wear Red Day
- 14th: Valentine’s Day
- 8th-14th: Random Acts of Kindness Week
All Month: Black History Month
This month is a powerful time to honor and celebrate the contributions and achievements of Black individuals throughout history.
To recognize and educate teams, we can organize events like educational seminars and panel talks or invite guest speakers to encourage reflection and conversation.
I also always like to recommend hosting a book club focusing on the writings of Black authors. I like this approach because I think it brings together a greater sense of community while amplifying more Black voices.
You may also consider planning cultural heritage celebrations or simply distributing resources that shed light on Black history and culture, such as podcasts and documentaries.
It’s an opportunity to educate ourselves and appreciate the significant impact Black individuals have made in our society.
All Month: American Heart Month
This month invites us to focus on one of the most important parts of our well-being, our heart! ❤️
It’s a wonderful time to encourage small daily habits that support a healthier lifestyle, like adding movement breaks throughout the workday, choosing heart-friendly meals, staying hydrated, or simply taking a few mindful breaths to ease stress. These little shifts can make a big difference in how energized and supported our teams feel.
If you want to bring something heart-healthy to your team this month, Stretch & Soothe is the perfect fit. It’s calming, easy to join from any workspace, and designed to melt away the tension we tend to carry in our neck, shoulders, and back. Check it out here
February 4th, 2026: World Cancer Day
Today is a powerful reminder of the strength, resilience, and hope carried by those impacted by cancer: patients, survivors, caregivers, and communities.
Workplaces generally keep things supportive and optional:
-
Share vetted resources around early detection and evidence-based prevention (no fear tactics, of course)
-
Offer space for conversation or reflection, recognizing that some employees may be navigating this quietly
-
Spotlight local organizations providing patient or caregiver support
Let’s use this day to encourage early detection, promote healthier habits, and nurture a workplace where support and understanding are always within reach.
February 6th, 2026: National Wear Red Day
Today, we wear red to raise awareness about women’s heart health and the unique symptoms and risks that often go overlooked. It’s a simple way to spark conversations about prevention, support, and the small habits that genuinely make a difference.
If you want to acknowledge it at work, here are simple, non-cheesy ideas:
-
Easiest and low lift, while still creating engagement: invite employees to wear red and share a short educational blurb in the team Slack.
-
Encourage folks to incorporate a heart-healthy micro-habit for the day: a walk, a stretch break, or 5-min mindfulness practice.
-
Share resources tailored to women’s cardiovascular health, which is the whole point of the day.
Light, easy, and meaningful.
If you want to mark the day with something restorative, classes like Chair Yoga, Stretch & Soothe, Mindful Movement, or Mat Yoga are all great fits. Browse and book here.
February 14th: Valentine's Day
Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be ALL about romance, it can simply be a moment to highlight appreciation, kindness, and connection at work – or in-office romances! Just kidding. 🤭
A fun card-making break or a calming self-love-themed session can make the day feel special.
If you want to offer something fun around self-care and self-love, our Self-Care for Stress Reduction or Chair Yoga classes fit perfectly.
February 8th-14th: Random Acts of Kindness Week
Woo hoo! We have a full week for this one.
RAK (ok, not the best acronym) week is a time to encourage and engage in acts of kindness throughout the office.
Organize a volunteering day with your team, start a ‘kindness challenge’ where employees perform random acts of kindness, or provide a platform for peer-to-peer recognition.
You can also offer wellness classes as a ‘random act of kindness’ for your team.
A couple of classes that fit perfectly with the spirit of the week: “The Science of Gratitude Journaling” Or “Guided Meditation for Grounding & Calm.” Learn more.
March 2026 Workplace Awareness Days
March is a vibrant mix of health awareness and appreciation for diversity.
From celebrating our teams to acknowledging global health issues, here’s how I recommend making the most of these observances.
- All month: Nutrition Month
- 6th: Employee Appreciation Day
- 8th: International Women’s Day
- 13th: World Sleep Day
- 17th: St. Patrick’s Day
- 20th: Day of Happiness
- 31st: Transgender Day of Visibility
All month: Nutrition Month
A healthy team is a happy team!
THAT BEING SAID, I always caution my clients about coming off the wrong way during Nutrition Month…
It’s very important not to recommend any “diet” or “weight-loss challenge.” Nutrition is more than just a number on the scale, and that connotation can be very upsetting or alienating to employees.
Plus, everyone knows we *should* be eating more spinach. Employees are more interested in novel and inclusive approaches to nutrition.
One of our most popular options for this theme is Good Mood Food, a session that explores how certain nutrients support focus, energy, sleep, and stress levels. It’s science-backed, easy to understand, and full of quick takeaways employees can actually use.
And NO raw celery cleanse required.
We also offer Mindful Eating, a light, beginner-friendly session that explores a data-backed mindfulness practice proven to increase psychological well-being.
March 6th, 2026: Employee Appreciation Day
ALERT, ALERT. DO NOT MISS THIS DAY. 🚨 All of your competitors will be marking this day in some fashion.
If you miss this one, it shows.
And it’s ok if you don’t have a lot of time or money to spend. Remember, intention and thoughtfulness outweigh the price point here.
Show appreciation through gestures like a hyper-personalized handwritten thank-you note, a personalized awards ceremony, or a relaxing yoga class for the team.
I actually have so many ideas for Employee Appreciation Day I think I’ll have to point you toward another article I wrote: 20 Unique Ideas To Celebrate Employee Appreciation Day that will actually land with your employees (trust me).
Remember, it’s about creating a culture where everyone feels recognized and appreciated.
Our top booked class for Employee Appreciation Day is Chair Yoga (it’s restorative & inclusive). It feels like a special event without needing to change clothes or be in yoga pants in front of your boss.
March 8th, 2026: International Women’s Day
This is an important day to celebrate the incredible achievements of women around the world and in our offices.
International Women’s Day celebrates women’s achievements while acknowledging the barriers that still exist… a balance that workplaces can easily support without veering into “corporate girlboss energy.”
Here are workplace-safe, well-received ways to mark it:
-
Host a panel or fireside chat featuring women leaders in your organization or industry.
-
Create moments of rest or reflection for women on your team: a short guided break, a wellness hour, or simply reduced meeting load. You could also offer a wellness session that aligns with the theme, like Mindful Movement or Building Boundaries Between Work & Home, both of which help support women’s well-being at work. Learn more & book here.
Keep it authentic and grounded.
March 13th, 2026: World Sleep Day
Good sleep is essential for good health, and chronic sleep deprivation is farrrrrr too common.
The CDC estimates that over 25% of your workforce is experiencing “excessive sleepiness” at any given time.
The good news is – we have a wellness class specifically created for your sleepy team members: Mindfulness For Improving Sleep.
This short 30-minute session discusses the three primary obstacles to restful sleep, the role that mindfulness plays, and techniques to enhance the quality of your sleep.
It’s a great opportunity to remind our teams that better sleep = better health.
And don’t just take my word for it; here’s a testimonial from a recent webinar attendee,
“I’ve struggled with sleep for a long time, and it can impact my workday. I really appreciate that you are putting these classes together for us, it means a lot.”
Testimonials always make me smile. 😊
March 17th, 2026: St. Patrick’s Day
St. Patrick’s Day brings a fun moment to infuse a little joy and brightness into our workday.
Use the day as a low-stakes reminder that workplace wellness can include fun, not just “serious” programming.
More fun, engaging, and festive, less “view the long history of St. Patrick here in this infographic.”
Let’s take today as a gentle reminder that wellness also means finding moments that make us smile, supporting a culture where joy and community are part of our everyday experience.
March 20th, 2026: Day of Happiness
Question: What makes your employees happy?
I won’t give too many recommendations here because, usually, internal team members know what brings their coworkers joy.
Or, of course, just ask them! (A few weeks in advance would be ideal. And see if there are any ideas you can bring to life.)
I can share which classes are most commonly picked for this day:
On this day, focus on activities that bring joy to the workplace.
It’s a day to remember that happiness at work leads to more productive and creative teams. Learn more.
March 31st, 2026: Transgender Day of Visibility
This day is dedicated to celebrating transgender people and raising awareness of discrimination faced by the transgender community.
At work, we can support this day by hosting educational sessions, showing solidarity through social media campaigns, and, most importantly, inviting speakers from the transgender community.
It’s about building an inclusive environment where everyone feels safe and valued.
April 2026 Workplace Awareness Days
Like they always say, “April wellness events bring May morale boosts!” – or something like that.
April is all about staying active and managing stress.
I think of April as a light and bright month of our wellness calendar. 🌼
It’s a great month to encourage healthy habits and bring some light-heartedness into the office. Here’s how we can embrace each of these days and themes in April.
- All Month: Stress Awareness Month
- All Month: Alcohol Awareness Month
- 7th: World Health Day
- 22nd: Earth Day
- 22nd: National Admin Professionals Day
- 28th: World Day for Safety & Health at Work
All Month: Stress Awareness Month
Stress management is your greatest ally in today’s fast-paced work environment.
Throughout April, we can focus on activities that help reduce stress.
Consider hosting workshops on mindfulness, time management, or even relaxation techniques.
Encouraging regular breaks, creating a quiet relaxation space in the office, or offering flexible working hours can also help in managing workplace stress.
This is, of course, a very busy time for us here at Twello! With the most popular classes being: “Break The Stress Cycle,” “Preventing Burnout,” and “How To Actually Relax.” Learn more here.
All Month: Alcohol Awareness Month
Alcohol Awareness Month is one of those topics that can get stressful fast if handled the wrong way, so I like to keep it light, supportive, and absolutely non-judgmental.
Here’s what I usually recommend:
-
Share simple, accessible resources about alcohol and well-being, nothing preachy.
-
Normalize conversations about choosing lower- or no-alcohol options. People appreciate the permission and opening the conversation.
It’s not about telling people how to live.
It’s about creating a workplace where healthy choices feel easy and supported.
April 7th, 2026: World Health Day
This is another big one, especially for global teams!
Make sure you’re supporting your team by acknowledging World Health Day.
This day is all about making health and well-being (instead of productivity and profits) a priority in the workplace.
A day dedicated to promoting global health awareness is an ideal time to bring attention to health-related issues that can impact our employees.
Our most popular classes booked for this day are (in order):
1) Good Mood Food
2) Mindfulness For Improving Sleep
3) Chair Yoga
April 22nd, 2026: Earth Day
This day is all about appreciating and protecting our planet.
What do I recommend? Earth Day might as well be called “Mindfulness & Nature Day” around here!
Last year we had 12 companies celebrating Earth Day with our “Mindfulness & Nature Class” with great reviews:
“I LOVE that my employer cares enough to help us learn more about mindfulness and the environment.”
Want to book for your team? Learn more here.
April 22nd, 2026: National Admin Professionals Day
Don’t forget to celebrate the absolute BACKBONE of any office – the administrative team!
Show your appreciation with a special lunch, a thoughtful gift, or even a fun awards ceremony.
You can also treat them to a relaxing wellness moment: whether that’s a calming “Guided Meditation for Grounding & Calm,” a gentle “Stretch & Soothe” session, or our “Preventing Burnout” workshop for the team that holds everything together. Browse & book here. (link to catalog)
Their dedication to keeping the office running smoothly deserves a day of recognition and celebration.
April 28th, 2026: World Day for Safety & Health at Work
To me, this day is a great reminder that “safety” isn’t just equipment and procedures.
It’s also the small daily habits that help people feel comfortable and cared for at work.
Here’s what I’ve seen work well:
-
Revisit ergonomics (especially for folks who’ve been working at a kitchen table since 2020… speaking from experience).
-
Refresh emergency procedures in a way that doesn’t bore people to death.
-
Encourage mindful breaks so tension and fatigue don’t sneak up on the team.
If you want something restorative for the day, Stretch & Soothe is a lovely fit. For the cultural side of safety, I love recommending Creating Psychological Safety.
May 2026 Workplace Awareness Days
May is a pivotal month for supporting mental health in the workplace. It’s also the busiest month for us here at Twello.
It’s a time to focus on well-being, acknowledge the crucial roles of our team members, and embrace practices that improve mental well-being. Let’s take a look at how we can make the most of this month.
- All month: Mental Health Awareness Month
- All month: Employee Health & Fitness Month
- 10th: Mother’s Day
- 13th: National Receptionist Day
- 11th-17th: Mental Health Awareness Week
- 21st: World Meditation Day
- 25th: World Meditation Day
All Month: Mental Health Awareness Month
We (lovingly!) call the month of May “The Olympics” for us at Twello. Easily the busiest month of the year.
May is entirely dedicated to raising awareness about mental health issues and destigmatizing mental illness.
This is a cause very near and dear to our hearts, as Twello was started as a result of one of our co-founders (aka me!) struggling with her own mental health.
After spending a year off of work due to a nervous breakdown and bipolar diagnosis, Twello was born.
Considering mental disorders affect roughly one in four people worldwide at some point in their lives (World Health Organization) – it is an excellent opportunity for us to open the conversation around mental health and foster a supportive work environment.
We have entire workshop packages designed to support conversations around mental health and share wellness strategies in an accommodating way.
The good news is that mental Health Awareness Month usually allows for four to eight resource touchpoints over four weeks.
Here are our eight most popular workshops in May (in order):
1) Mindfulness 101
2) Break The Stress Cycle
3) Understanding Anxiety
4) Good Mood Food
5) Self-Care For Stress Reduction
6) Mindfulness For Improving Sleep
7) Chair Yoga
8) Preventing Burnout
View the whole catalog here.
In addition to programming, consider providing additional resources for mental health support or even implementing a “mental health day” policy.
Encouraging open conversations about mental health from the leadership team can also make a profound difference in the workplace.
Looking to for plan for May? Book a quick, free consultation with one of our wellness experts.
All Month: Employee Health & Fitness Month
This month is all about uplifting our teams by encouraging movement, healthy habits, and small daily choices that boost overall well-being.
It’s a perfect time to inspire friendly challenges, incorporate stretch breaks into meetings, share simple nutrition tips, or highlight activities that get everyone moving—whether that’s a lunchtime walk, a quick desk workout, or a few minutes of mindful breathing.
Even TINY steps add up and can help reduce stress, improve focus, and increase energy throughout the day.
By promoting an environment where wellness feels fun, accessible, and judgment-free, we help build a workplace where everyone feels supported in taking care of both their physical and mental health.
Learn more about Twello’s fitness classes.
May 10th, 2026: Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day can be a sensitive one, so I always try to approach it with a lot of care and zero assumptions.
Here’s what tends to land well:
-
Acknowledge that motherhood looks different for everyone: biological moms, adoptive moms, foster parents, step-parents, those expecting, navigating fertility journeys, or grieving loss.
-
Make the gesture small but thoughtful: a warm message, flexibility in the day, or simply a note of appreciation.
-
Avoid anything that spotlights people who may not want to be spotlighted.
A little sensitivity goes a very long way here.
May 11th-17th, 2026: Mental Health Awareness Week
Mental Health Awareness Week *during* Mental Health Awareness Month… whoa!
In addition to the eight wellness workshops that are booked most commonly in May above, this week offers another opportunity to shine a light on mental health in the workplace.
Organize daily initiatives or discussions that address different aspects of mental well-being.
Consider offering a week of relaxation sessions and group discussions, or invite mental health professionals to speak.
Activities like ‘walk and talk’ or ‘bring your pet to work day’ can also promote a sense of well-being and relaxation in the office.
Take an even deeper dive by conducting a mental health survey to get a better understanding of your team and their needs.
This can provide valuable insights into how we can further support our employees’ mental health and cater our initiatives to be more meaningful and effective.
Looking to leave a lasting impression this Mental Health Awareness Week? Book a quick, free consultation with one of our wellness experts.
May 13th, 2026: National Receptionist Day
Recognize the commitment and hard work of the receptionists in your office.
These team members often serve as the first point of contact and are essential to daily operations.
Show appreciation with a special thank-you note, a celebration, or a token of gratitude. It’s a gesture to let them know their contributions are valuable and appreciated.
May 21st, 2026: World Meditation Day
This one is easy!
On this day, organize a group meditation session, perhaps at the start of the day or during a lunch break.
How, you ask? That’s my job! At Twello, we offer all kinds of mindfulness and meditation classes but these are the most commonly booked for World Meditation Day:
You could also provide resources or workshops on how to meditate and incorporate mindfulness into daily routines.
Encouraging regular meditation practices can help improve focus, reduce stress, and enhance overall employee well-being.
May 21st, 2026: Memorial Day
Memorial Day is such a meaningful time for many people, so I suggest trying to keep things simple and respectful.
Some gentle ways to honor the day:
-
A moment of silence.
-
A short message of gratitude that doesn’t feel performative.
-
Encouraging people to take real rest time with loved ones.
It’s a day to slow down, reflect, and lead with compassion.
June 2026 Workplace Awareness Days
June is an exciting month bringing celebrations of diversity, and the environment.
Let’s embrace these themes and create a culture that’s vibrant, inclusive, and healthy! Here’s how we can make the most of June.
- All month: Pride Month
- All month: PTSD Awareness Month
- All month: Men’s Health Month
- All month: National Safety Month
- 5th: World Environment Day
- 6th: National Health and Fitness Day
- 10th: Action Anxiety Day (Canada)
- 19th: Juneteenth
- 21st: Father’s Day
- 21st: International Yoga Day
All Month: Pride Month
Celebrating Pride Month is all about recognizing and supporting the LGBTQIA2+ community within our workforce.
This includes taking part in local Pride events, hosting your own internal events, and most importantly, inviting speakers from the LGBTQIA2+ community.
It’s vital to promote an environment where every employee feels respected and valued, irrespective of their gender identity or sexual orientation.
All Month: PTSD Awareness Month
PTSD Awareness Month is important because so many people are living with the effects of trauma quietly while still trying to show up at work every day.
Here’s how our clients like to appraoch it:
-
Share straightforward, stigma-free resources about how PTSD can show up.
-
Encourage a culture where people feel safe asking for support if they need it.
-
Weave in grounding practices or mindful breaks to help regulate the nervous system, simple things make a difference.
It’s really about awareness and empathy, not heavy programming.
All Month: Men’s Health Month
Men’s Health Month is a great excuse to check in on habits we tend to ignore until something hurts or breaks (I say this lovingly).
Here’s what I usually recommend:
-
Encourage routine checkups and preventative care.
-
Normalize conversations about stress and mental health, especially for folks who aren’t used to bringing that up. Bonus points if you can find a senior leader or two to share their personal stories.
-
Add micro-habits throughout the month: walking meetings, stretch breaks, drinking more water, whatever feels doable.
It’s always the tiny daily choices that move the needle.
All Month: National Safety Month
When June rolls around, I like to treat National Safety Month as a reset button, both physically and culturally.
What tends to work well:
-
Revisit safety practices in a way that’s approachable and not “corporate training purgatory.”
-
Do an ergonomic refresh (we all slouch more than we think). This could mean new chairs and supports for folks, or just reminding people to align their monitors.
-
Talk openly about psychological safety and what it feels like to actually have it.
If you want programming for this one, Stretch & Soothe is great for the physical side, and Creating Psychological Safety is perfect for the workplace culture side.
June 5th, 2026: World Environment Day
The theme of World Environment Day is environmental action and awareness.
Much like Earth Day, this day is all about acknowledging and safeguarding our planet’s well-being.
Our Mindfulness & Nature Class was built to explore just that with a mindfulness lens.
June 10th, 2026: Action Anxiety Day (Canada)
Take this day to recognize the importance of mental health by raising awareness of anxiety in the workplace.
Provide anxiety management workshops, create a ‘quiet area’ for relaxation, or share resources for expert support.
Incorporating virtual mindfulness meditation sessions is especially effective for remote/hybrid team members.
Creating a supportive work atmosphere that allows employees to manage their stress and anxious feelings is so important, not only for employee mental health but also for boosting that bottom line.
If you want something more structured, our Understanding Anxiety workshop was built for exactly this.
June 19th, 2026: Juneteenth
I like to approach Juneteenth with sincerity and simplicity. It marks the end of slavery in the U.S. and honors the resilience and contributions of Black communities, so it deserves thoughtful acknowledgment, not just a quick Slack message.
Thoughtful reams often:
-
Share curated educational resources (private, not forced participation)
-
Highlight Black-led organizations or initiatives within the org
-
Create space for reflection or conversation without making it performative
It’s a day to listen and learn with respect.
June 21st, 2026: Father’s Day
Today we celebrate the fathers, stepfathers, father figures, and caregivers who inspire, support, and guide us with strength and heart.
It’s a meaningful moment to recognize the dedication and love they bring—both at home and in the workplace.
Whether it’s offering a thoughtful message, providing flexibility for family time, or simply acknowledging the balancing act many caregivers navigate, small gestures can go a long way in showing our appreciation.
June 21st, 2026: International Yoga Day
I love this one because it’s such a low-lift way to help the team feel better.
If you don’t have a budget, no worries. Ask if someone internally feels comfortable leading a few simple stretches. Even five minutes can help reset the whole group.
If you do have a budget, Chair Yoga and Mat Yoga are the perfect fit. Our instructors are certified, insured, and amazing at working with all levels.
July 2026 Workplace Awareness Days
As we step into summer, July is a wonderful time to celebrate social connections, national pride, and the simple joys that bring us together.
-
- All month: Social Wellness Month
- All month: Minority Mental Health Awareness Month
- 1st: Canada Day
- 4th: US Independence Day
- 24th: International Self-Care Day
All Month: Social Wellness Month
This month highlights the important role of social connections in our well-being.
Through social outings, team-building activities, or community service projects, encourage your team to strengthen relationships and deepen connections.
Hosting regular ‘get-to-know-you’ lunches or coffee breaks can help build stronger bonds between team members.
All Month: Minority Mental Health Awareness Month
This month encourages us to deepen our understanding of the unique mental health experiences within diverse and marginalized communities.
Minority Mental Health Awareness Month is close to my heart because mental health experiences aren’t one-size-fits-all.
Here’s how I like to support it:
-
Share resources from mental health professionals with diverse perspectives, especially if you have folks or services offered internally.
-
Encourage leadership to listen more than they speak.
-
Build psychological safety so people feel comfortable asking for support.
It’s about awareness, empathy, and making space.
July 1st, 2026: Canada Day
For our Canadian friends, this is a day to celebrate national pride.
Before heading out of the office for the long weekend, decorate the office space in red and white, organize a Canadian-themed potluck, or even host a trivia quiz on Canadian history and culture.
I love it when my clients celebrate the diversity and heritage of Canada while having some fun in the workplace!
July 4th, 2026: US Independence Day
The fourth of July offers our American teams a chance to commemorate their history and culture.
Before the long weekend commences, think about throwing a barbecue lunch, setting up a themed casual dress day, or decorating the office in patriotic colors.
It’s a great way to celebrate and appreciate the American spirit as a team! Plus, who doesn’t love a barbeque lunch?
July 24th, 2026: International Self-Care Day
Woo-hoo, this is always a big day at Twello. Today is all about promoting self-care!
Encourage your team to take part in activities that they find relaxing and rejuvenating.
Host a self-care workshop such as Meditation 101, Mindfulness For Improving Sleep, Chair Yoga, or Building Boundaries Between Work & Home, set up a ‘relaxation station’ with cozy seating and soothing music, or give employees an extended lunch break to enjoy some personal time caring for themselves.

I support a lot of our clients here in booking workshops on subjects like mental well-being, physical health, and nutrition.
May I also suggest introducing “Wellness Wednesdays” for the month, featuring activities focused on holistic wellness?
Let me take some work off your plate by checking out our 25 Corporate Wellness Wednesday Ideas for both onsite and virtual teams!
August 12th, 2026: International Youth Day
Celebrate the future of our workforce with International Youth Day!
You may use this day to focus on the professional development of your younger employees, recognizing their potential and vibrancy.
Make the most of this day by organizing a panel discussion with young leaders in your industry, a career development workshop, or mentorship programs.
It’s an opportunity to inspire and be inspired by the next generation of employees.
August 15th, 2026: International Relaxation Day
International Relaxation Day is basically my personal holiday because I get to tell people, “Please relax,” and it’s actually appropriate.
Here’s what tends to land:
-
Encouraging a short guided break: meditation, stretching, or even suggesting folks go for a walk on work time.
-
A lighter meeting schedule or an early log-off (absolute fan favorite).
-
Offering a quiet space where people can decompress.
If you want a class to go with it, my top picks are Mindfulness 101, Chair Yoga, or a Sound Bath Meditation. All three are calming, inclusive, and fun to bring into the workplace.
Late Aug: Back-to-School Season
Back-to-School season marks a fresh start!
Not just for students, but for parents, caregivers, and families navigating new routines and responsibilities.
It’s a great moment for us to acknowledge the juggling act many team members face during this transition. Small acts of support, like offering schedule flexibility, sharing helpful wellness tips, or simply checking in with a kind word, can make this shift feel a little smoother and more manageable.
August 26th, 2026: Women's Equality Day
This day honors the passage of the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote, and also focuses on the continuous efforts toward gender equality.
It’s a time to acknowledge women’s accomplishments and openly explore ways to promote inclusivity and equality, especially in the workplace.
Plan an open discussion, workshops, or even a networking event centered around women’s empowerment.
Some other easy ways to promote this initiative in your office can be women’s get-togethers, equal pay reviews, or simply recognizing the incredible women on your team. Show your appreciation with both impactful actions and support.
September 2026 Workplace Awareness Days
- All month: Self-Care Awareness Month
- All month: Suicide Prevention Month
- All month: Healthy Aging Month
- All month: Pain Awareness Month
- 7th: Labor Day
- 10th: Suicide Prevention Day
- 21st: International Day of Peace
- 30th: Truth & Reconciliation Day (Canada)
All Month: Self-Care Awareness Month
We’re reminded of the importance of taking care of ourselves throughout the entire month.
The fun thing about self-care as a category is there there are SO MANY ways to practice it and celebrate it.
If you have the budget for it (I can help with this!), a “best practice” is to offer multiple self-care tools.
Remember, self-care looks different for everyone, it’s not a one-size-fits-all.
Here’s a well-rounded set of 4 classes:
Workplace Self-Care: Building Boundaries Between Work & Home
Physical Health: Mat Yoga
Mental Health: Meditation 101
Emotional Health: Resilience Training
Want to find the best supports for your team and goals? Book a quick, free consultation with one of our wellness experts.
All month: Suicide Prevention Month
September is a meaningful time to bring visibility to suicide prevention and reinforce the message that support is available, early conversations matter, and no one should navigate mental health challenges alone.
Top workplaces often mark the month by:
-
Sharing clear, stigma-free resources about warning signs and where to get help.
-
Encouraging leaders to model openness and compassion in everyday interactions.
-
Normalizing check-ins, especially for remote teams, where struggling quietly is easier.
Even small gestures of care can make a big difference for someone who needs it.
All month: Healthy Aging Month
Healthy Aging Month is a reminder that wellness evolves with us, and that healthy habits aren’t just for January or “someday when life slows down.”
A few ways teams usually embrace the month:
-
Highlighting everyday practices that support long-term vitality: movement, good sleep, balanced meals, and meaningful connection.
-
Encouraging preventive care, routine checkups, and early intervention.
-
Are you onsite? Why not organize a fun walk for in-office teams! Even a 20-minute-r, you’d be surprised how much it can boost morale.
It’s a feel-good month that reinforces wellness as a lifelong journey.
All month: Pain Awareness Month
Pain Awareness Month gives you permission to talk about the part everyone already knows: yes, sitting 10 hours a day does add up.
Here’s what healthy workplaces like to do:
-
Offer ergonomic refreshers that aren’t snoozy or guilt-inducing.
-
Share resources for managing chronic or stress-related pain.
-
Add in short movement breaks to unclench shoulders that have been clenched since… 2019.
Twello’s Mindful Movement class is a perfect fit if you want a gentle, feel-good reset that caters to all accessibility levels.
September 7th, 2026: Labor Day
Labor Day is a moment to honor the hard work, dedication, and contributions of our teams—the people who keep our workplaces moving forward every single day.
Let’s use this day to celebrate the individuals who make our organizations thrive and continue building a culture where gratitude, balance, and well-being are at the heart of how we work together.
September 10th, 2026: Suicide Prevention Day
Suicide Prevention Day is a meaningful reminder that mental health struggles are often invisible, and that early support can genuinely save lives.
According to the World Health Organization, close to 800,000 people die by suicide each year. That’s roughly one person every 40 seconds. It’s one of the leading causes of death worldwide, and yet talking about it still makes many people uncomfortable.
That discomfort is exactly why workplaces have such an important role to play.
Some simple, effective ways teams mark this day:
-
Offer training on recognizing signs of distress and how to check in without overstepping
-
Share crisis and mental health resources in places people will actually see and use
-
Encourage stigma-free conversations where it’s okay to say “I’m not doing great” without fear of judgment
These actions may feel small, but they create ripple effects, making it more likely that someone reaches out, someone listens, and someone gets help when they need it most.
September 21st, 2026: International Day of Peace
A whole day dedicated to peace? Love that for us.
Teams usually mark it by:
-
Offering a guided mindfulness class or breathing break to slow things down.
-
A short workshop or discussion on compassionate communication, or conflict de-escalation.
-
Fun team activities that center cooperation, listening, and shared purpose.
It’s a chance to step back from the usual pace and consider the kind of environment we’re actively creating. Even small moments of clarity and kindness can strengthen a culture of peace. One interaction at a time.
September 30th, 2026: Truth & Reconciliation Day (Canada)
Truth & Reconciliation Day invites us to pause, reflect, and honor the survivors of residential schools, the children who never returned home, and the Indigenous communities whose stories continue to shape Canada’s history and future.
It’s a meaningful time for us to listen, learn, and acknowledge the importance of truth in the healing process.
Whether it’s sharing educational resources, creating space for dialogue, or simply approaching the day with empathy and openness, even small steps can contribute to deeper understanding and respect.
October 2026 Workplace Awareness Days
Continuing the theme of mental health and creating a positive work environment, October is a month to address emotional wellness, show gratitude, and add a bit of fun to the office. Here are some ideas for your wellness calendar in October.
- All Month: Emotional Wellness Month
- All Month: Healthy Workplace Month
- All Month: Breast Cancer Awareness Month
- 10th: World Mental Health Day
- 12th: Canadian Thanksgiving
- 31st: Halloween
All Month: Emotional Wellness Month
Emotional Wellness Month is like a gentle nudge saying, “Hey, maybe we shouldn’t bottle everything up until Q4 ends?”
Teams often enjoy:
-
Engaging workshops such as Emotional Intelligence 101 or Mindfulness 101!
-
Journaling prompts or reflection breaks (“therapy, but make it workplace-friendly”).
-
Normalizing conversations about stress before the meltdown stage.
All Month: Healthy Workplace Month
Healthy Workplace Month is not about forcing people into a 10,000-step challenge they didn’t ask for.
Today’s best teams know that healthy workplaces are built on a holistic view of health, not just a number on a scale. In fact, focusing on weight alone is a very discriminatory approach to corporate wellness and should be absolutely avoided.
Instead, focus on creating a positive work environment where our team can feel and do their best.
This can be ergonomic assessments, discussions on work-life balance, or weekly mindfulness practices.
All Month: Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a time to honor the strength of survivors, support those currently navigating treatment, and remember the loved ones we’ve lost along the way.
It’s a meaningful opportunity to encourage early detection, share educational resources, and remind our teams about the importance of regular screenings and self-exams.
October 10th, 2026: World Mental Health Day
🚨 Companies all around the world dedicate this day to raising awareness of mental health issues and supporting their employees. Don’t skip this one! 🚨
Use this day to highlight the importance of mental health in the workplace and offer resources for support. Bring in a mental health expert for a talk, or plan a mental wellness workshop.
As a continuous commitment, you can explore more long-term strategies like mental health training for managers, flexible work arrangements, or enhanced mental health benefits and coverage.
October 12th, 2026: Canadian Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian folks!
This is a day to enjoy fellowship and express gratitude. Bring this warm energy into the office with a potluck where everyone brings a dish to share or organize a team activity that centers around giving thanks.
It’s a perfect time to appreciate each other and the positive aspects in both our professional and personal lives.
October 31st, 2026: Halloween
Halloween is a fun opportunity to break the routine and bring some excitement to the office.
Encourage team members to enter a costume contest, dress up, or decorate their workspaces. 🎃
November 2026 Workplace Awareness Days
November is also a time of thankfulness and generosity. It’s a perfect month to spread kindness and awareness on important health initiatives. Let’s jump into how to fully engage in these special occasions.
- All Month: National Caregivers Month
- All Month: American Diabetes Month
- 11th: Veterans Day
- 11th: Remembrance Day (Canada)
- 13th: World Kindness Day
- 19th: International Men’s Day
- 26th: US Thanksgiving
All Month: National Caregivers Month
National Caregivers Month shines a light on the compassion, strength, and generosity of those who care for others, often balancing their own responsibilities while supporting loved ones with patience and love.
Here are thoughtful ways teams support them:
-
Acknowledge caregiving openly (instead of pretending no one is exhausted).
-
Offer flexibility where possible.
-
Share caregiver support resources people can access privately.
This month is all about saying, “We see you.”
All Month: American Diabetes Month
American Diabetes Month is a reminder that small daily habits can make a meaningful difference for long-term health.
Low-lift options for teams:
-
Share educational resources about nutrition and prevention
-
Encourage hydration, movement, and balanced meals (nothing extreme)
-
Highlight community organizations doing research or offering support
It’s approachable, helpful, and easy to support.
November 11th, 2026: Veterans Day
Veterans Day is a moment to honor the courage, service, and sacrifice of the men and women who have served in the armed forces.
I like to recommend:
-
Sharing messages of gratitude.
-
Offer moments of reflection.
-
Highlight stories or contributions from veterans inside your org (only if they’re comfortable sharing).
Respect and sincerity go a long way here.
November 11th, 2026: Remembrance Day (Canada)
Remembrance Day invites us to pause and honor those who served, as well as the families and communities who carry that legacy forward.
A grounded, respectful approach often includes:
-
Honoring a moment of silence.
-
A thoughtful message acknowledging the significance of the day.
-
Highlighting stories or contributions from veterans inside your org (only if they’re comfortable sharing).
Simple gestures carry deep meaning.
November 13th, 2026: World Kindness Day
A day designated to spreading kindness!
One of my favorite things I’ve seen is a “Kindness Wall of Fame” where employees can post stories, photos, or testimonials about acts of kindness they’ve witnessed or experienced in the workplace.
This even serves as a visual reminder of the positive impact of kindness and encourages others to follow suit.
November 19th, 2026: International Men’s Day
November 19th is an opportunity for us to celebrate the male role models in our lives and to join in conversations about men’s mental health.
Organize discussions or events centered around important topics like mental health. It’s a chance for us to support each other and break down the stigma surrounding men’s mental well-being.
Some impactful topics could include emotional expression, stress management, and “healthy masculinity.”
November 26th, 2026: US Thanksgiving
This is a time for our American friends to show gratitude and enjoy quality time together.
Before setting that out-of-office alert, connect with your team over a Thanksgiving potluck lunch or make a “wall of gratitude” where staff can share what they’re thankful for.
Our workshop, The Science Of Gratitude Journaling, is a timely class as well.
This time of year is about reflection and appreciation for positive aspects of our lives, like our work and colleagues.
December 2026 Workplace Awareness Days
As we approach the end of the year and gear up for the holiday season, December holds a special significance for embracing compassion. It’s a time for us to pause, reflect on the past year, and find ways to make heartfelt contributions.
Let’s cherish the present moment amidst the holiday hustle and bustle!
- All Month: HIV & AIDS Awareness Month
- All Month: Managing Holiday Stress
- 5th: International Volunteer Day
- 10th: Human Right Day
All Month: HIV & AIDS Awareness Month
This month is dedicated to raising awareness about HIV and AIDS, and supporting those affected by these conditions.
Organize educational sessions to dispel myths and provide accurate information about HIV and AIDS.
Consider participating in or organizing fundraising events to support AIDS research or charities that help those living with HIV/AIDS.
It’s an opportunity to show support and solidarity with those impacted by this global health issue.
All Month: Managing Holiday Stress
While joyful, the holiday season can also be STRESSFUL.
Recognizing this, focus on establishing a supportive work environment for your team near the end of the year.
Share stress-relieving resources or plan workshops on relaxation and managing holiday stress. To alleviate some of the seasonal pressure, encourage a healthy work-life balance during this hectic season and consider incorporating flexible work hours or a relaxed holiday schedule.
We also offer a seasonal class designed for exactly this time of year, Mindfulness For Managing Holiday Stressors, which focuses on seasonal stressors such as financial pinches and increased time with your in-laws.
December 1st, 2026: World AIDs Day
World AIDS Day is a time to honor those affected by HIV and AIDS, remember the lives lost, and stand in solidarity with individuals and communities continuing to navigate this journey today.
December 5th, 2026: International Volunteer Day
The 5th is a celebration of volunteer spirit.
Encourage folks to consider volunteering, whether it’s individually and as a group.
This can be lending a hand at a local shelter, taking part in cleanup efforts, or contributing to a good cause.
During the most consumer-driven month of all, feel the joy of helping others by giving back to the community!
December 10th, 2026: Human Rights Day
This day commemorates the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Promote open conversations about human rights issues at the office to foster an atmosphere of respect and understanding for everyone.
Plan discussions or workshops about diversity, inclusivity, and the significance of honoring human rights in all facets of life, creating a more welcoming and encouraging workplace for your team.

Working closely with HR and People & Culture teams every day gives her a grounded perspective on what
actually supports employee well-being (and what never gets used).
Each date on this awareness calendar is vetted through leading health agencies and long-standing
observance organizations, then filtered through Twello’s real-world experience of what workplaces can
realistically acknowledge. No noise. No gimmick days. Just what matters for teams.

FAQ About Twello’s 2026 Workplace Awareness Days Calendar
Where do these workplace awareness days come from?
We pull dates from national health agencies, long-standing observance organizations, and workplace culture calendars. Then we apply a reality filter based on what we’ve actually seen HR and People teams use over the years.
Twello has run thousands of workplace wellness sessions, so we’ve collected a lot of insight into which awareness days meaningfully drive engagement, and which ones… don’t.
No “National Iguana Awareness Day,” (sorry Iguana fans!), no “Bring a Potato to Work Day.”
Just the dates HR, People & Culture, and Office Managers actually care about.
Why did you curate this instead of listing every single holiday on the internet?
Because you don’t need a 400-item holiday dump.
You need clarity.
We’ve curated the dates that help you plan wellness programming, culture moments, and internal communications without sifting through irrelevant or… questionable observances.
These dates are the most commonly celebrated and recognized by our clients in North America and in most cases, around the world.
Who is this calendar designed for?
People who carry the logistical (and emotional!) load of keeping a team supported: HR leaders, People & Culture teams, Office Managers, Employee Experience teams, ERG leads, and anyone trying to make work feel a little more human.
If you touch culture, communication, or engagement, this is for you.
How do most teams use this calendar?
A few patterns we see:
-
Mapping out light-lift monthly wellbeing moments
-
Helping ERGs and culture committees get organized
-
Timing workshops or internal campaigns around meaningful dates
-
Plugging content into newsletters without reinventing the wheel
-
Getting ahead of big months (like May or October) before everyone is underwater
It’s basically a calm little planning tool that keeps things from sneaking up on you.
Can I download the 2026 calendar as a PDF?
Yep, in one click!
The PDF includes a 1-page cheat sheet and the full calendar with room for notes, so you can sketch ideas or flag dates for specific departments.
Do you update the dates every year?
Of course! That’s our job.
A surprising number of observances shift year to year, so we re-verify everything before releasing the annual update.
(It’s tedious, but worth it.)
Can Twello help us celebrate or activate these awareness days?
Of course! We offer workshops and ready-to-run activities aligned with many major observances, so HR and People teams can acknowledge important dates without scrambling. Check out our entire catalog here.
